My Life In Words | ||
2005-01-26 Click Away After an exciting day of game playing, reading, acting, and singing, the kids(well the older 2) are camped out on the couch, freshly bathed and in new pjs watching Trading Spaces, Boys vs Girls.Julia is currently snoring in her swing and I have just finished folding a load of laundry. I of course have a million other things that I could and should be doing, but instead, I am going to bore you all with a list of websites that I frequent. This does not incldue the dozen or so blogs that I read on a regular basis but hey, maybe I'll bore you with that list someday as well. Anyway, here you go! 0 comments so far2005-01-26 Nothing Less I just finished up a game of Monopoly Junior in which both Emily and Katherine kicked my butt. Emily won overall and Katherine came in second.Emily...seriously she excels at everything she does. She gives everything her all...and absolutely hates to fail. She is not a sore loser(although it's kind of hard to tell seeing as she succeeds at just about everything she does) but she is just one of those people who will accept nothing less than the best. Yet another inherited trait from her Dad. Sometimes, I wish I was more like them in some ways...and this is one of them! 2005-01-26 HELP! HELP! I am running out of ideas! Seriously, over the past few days the children and I have done the following things:made sugar cookies made homemade Valentine's cards made chocolate chips cookies played Scrabble Junior watched Shrek 2 made small scrapbooks They of course have been playing off and on with their toys as well but even that gets boring after a while. I might bust out the Arts and Crafts box and find yet another craft we can do together...if not to prevent them from watching tv all day long...which I forbid anyway. Too much tv just isn't good. Any thoughts? 3 comments so far2005-01-26 Moon Signs At the advice of Jay I decided to investigate our moon signs.Guess what? Emily and Ryun have the same moon signs (Aries)...this added to the same ruling planet and same Chinese zodiac sign. This is getting scary folks. Incidently, my moon sign was Libra(same as my sun sign ironically), Katherine's is Cancer, and Julia's is Virgo. 3 comments so far2005-01-26 Sun Signs and Other Interesting Facts And now(insert drumroll) the astrological signs that our family falls under, complete with typical traits and commentary. WOO HOO!Ryun: Virgo Modest and shy On the dark side.... Fussy and a worrier Ryun's Ruling Planet: Mercury Ryun seems to fit most of these traits well...in particular...meticulous, intelligent, perfectionist, overcritical. Sharon: Libra Diplomitic and urbane On the dark side.... Indecisive and changeable Sharon's Ruling Planer: Venus Most of these traits hit the nail right on the head for me...specifically...diplomatic, easygoing, peacable, indecisive, easily influenced, flirtatious. Emily: Gemini Adaptable and versatile
Nervous and tense Emily's Ruling Planet: Mercury A true Gemini for sure...communicative, witty, lively, cunning, inquisitive. Katherine: Saggitarius Optimistic and freedom-loving On the dark side.... Blindly optimistic and careless These traits are not at all true of Katherine...but she was born very close to the cutoff between Saggitarius and Scorpio(the 22nd is the cutoff and she was born the 25th) and the traits of Scorpio fit her much better.
Determined and forceful On the dark side.... Jealous and resentful Katherine's Ruling Planet: Jupiter These traits describe Katherine much better...determined, emotional, passionate, compulsive, obstinate. Julia: Cancer Emotional and loving On the dark side.... Changeable and moody Julia's Planet: Moon Obviously, it's a bit hard to tell how well these traits fit Julia. She is however born right on the cutoff...between Cancer and Leo(the 22nd) so here are the traits of a Leo as well. Leo Traits Generous and warmhearted On the dark side.... Pompous and patronizing
I have never, ever seen two people so alike. They look alike, act alike, say some of the same things, do things in the same way...everything. Except for the obvious difference of her gender, she is a carbon copy of her father. For all of you who know us personally, you will no doubt agree that this can be a very good...and very bad thing! Seriously though, it is their unique personalites that make them different...and make me love them both so much! 2005-01-26 Names For some reason, I woke up at 4:30 and could not get to sleep. So here I am , at 5 am, posting.I have always been interested in the meaning of names, and gave that quite a lot of thought when deciding what to name our children. When we were thinking of boys names(all 3 times!) we have always loved the name Brendan. No matter where I looked, online, in books, anywhere, the only meaning I ever found was "foul smelling hair." YUCK! I know that it probably would never come up but seriously, how embarrassing would that be? Imagine having a project at school that involved discussing the meaning of your name? "Hi, my name is Brendan, and my names means foul smelling hair." Not good. Eventually, for sentimental reasons, and of course not wanting to have a kid with that meaning for a name, we chose Adam. Obvioulsy, three girls=no using any boys names so yeah. Didn't matter. Anyway, here is a list of our family names...and their meanings. Ryun(although spelling it this way found no matches so using the "correct" spelling of Ryan): little king Sharon: princess Emily: industrious, worker Katherine: pure Julia: youthful 0 comments so far |
